Moosehead Lodge was built in 1996 and is centrally located in Tanjil Bren surrounded by large gum trees. It also has beautiful views overlooking a valley to a mountain on the other side. It has all the rustic charm of large A frame Mountain Lodge with memorabilia everywhere. The big Moosehead watches over proceedings high above the wood burner.
It is solar powered with gas used for lights, fridge, hot water and cooking. It caters for 6 people with 1 double bedroom and a bunk room for 4. There are extra mattresses available on request. Living, dining, and kitchen are in one large open plan room. The Lodge is heated with a big slow combustion burner, which can be shut down to slow combust all night or sit in front of and watch the fire roar away.
Outside, a covered veranda is the place to sit and take in the forest view and watch the birds and animal life. Moosehead Lodge is larger than Reindeer with a bigger balcony and slightly bigger main room. This makes it a better Lodge to stay at, rather than Reindeer, for up to eight people. It is 60 metres from Jenny’s Lodge and 70 metres from Reindeer Lodge.
