Just dropping a line to say we had a great time at Moosehead Lodge, the girls (all four of them) had a brilliant time as well which was a surprise as there was no internet, play station, hairdryer or any thing else that 11,12 and 15 year olds require. They did not even turn on the TV. We had plenty of walks and kept the campers laughing as the girls all had leeches stuck on them (and yes they did scream like a bunch of girls). We took our mountain bikes with us and I have never ridden my bike so much.

Reindeer Lodge was very relaxing & in a great setting. The big Conara Heating was warm and inviting and the overall rustic fittings really made you feel like you were in another time.

What a fantastic little spot. It snowed on our last day, (JUST LIKE THE PICTURES ON THE NET) Very peaceful and a great place to relax. Very close to the slopes just a short drive through delightful tropical rainforest and your there. We traveled with another couple and their three children around the same ages as our own and they had a blast. Its good old fashioned (entertain yourselves) so they talked and played charades and toasted marshmallows on the log fire, they fought and made up, they interacted with the adults and learned how not to drink too much. Overall it was a great way to get back in touch with one another, which in this day and age is something a lot of families’ don’t do enough of. I would like to thank Cyrus and his hospitality, he kept a good eye on us in case there was anything we should need such us more wood for the much loved fire. The fridge was a bit of a problem when we first arrived as it went out but we just put anything that needed keeping cold in an esky and popped it just outside the front door. Hey it was 1degee at night outside and beautiful and warm inside because of the fire. ( Problem was quickly rectified) One word of warning. If you have never been before and you have children, make sure you have sick bags as the slow winding drive to the lodge can be rather nauseating especially if traveling at night (which we truly do not recommend) If you do make sure your well rested as it is a true test of skill and patience. I would recommend the lodge for families who want to get away and to couples who want privacy.

We had a fabulous weekend at Moosehead Lodge, with fresh snow falling on Sunday to top off a lovely time. We had skiing fun, relaxing times by the fire and cooked up a monster turkey for our belated Christmas in July celebration. The king parrots and other assorted feathered friends were out in force.

We look forward to returning next year to this special place.

I have already signed and commented in the book at the lodge after our recent stay at reideer lodge but could not resist from looking at the images once again on the website as the experience was so memorable yet seemed like so long ago. It is probably that we had so much fun and wish we could turn back time. I would once again like to thank you for providing such a venue so unspoilt and so close to the snow field. It was the perfect hideaway and everything you said it would be. Trying to find the place late at night after travelling non stop from Adelaide was a bit of an adventure though. I would recommend anyone attempting this to definately allow enough daylight apon arrival as the winding and rather narrow road up the hill was a very daunting experience. The kids were very car sick by the time we arrived but it wasnt long before they overcome that and became very excited when we finally arrived to a raging fire, hot cooked meal and a bunch of friends who had preceeded us. (CLEVER OF THEM) I really cant believe the snowfall that come the day before we left. The bird cage was covered and the trees and cottage were a site like sometheing on a postcard, we have hundreds of memorable photos as it was so ausome. We went for a walk up one of the tracks close by and found the natural spring. On our way back it started to snow but the flakes melted when they hit the ground. That night, however was a completey different story. The place was covered with snow apon awakening and everyone raced outside to experience this perfect image. The fire was a very warm comfort and the endless supply of wood was great. The birds arrived to be fed, just as promised by Cyrus, who assured us that apon lighting the fire and smoke billowing from its chimeny the birds would soon arrive. Yep! not wrong. Thats excactly what happened. Well once again I would like to thank you and highly reccomend the lodge to anyone looking for such a hideaway. Just remember. It is rather secluded and extra company to help share this experience over a nice \"red\" adds to the enjoyment. Myself and my husband along with our,15yr old daughter and 13yr old son shared this with another family of 5 who had children of similar ages. We found this to be the perfect combination and had a blast. Plenty of nice food and wine, great company and the perfect setting. SUPURB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have stayed in many cottages, resorts, hotels all over Australia but for some reason this is our number one. The place, the surrounds, the views, the walks, all perfect. Better than any spa, pool massage, sauna.
Nothing like Tanjil Bren Moosehead therapy.

Thanks to Dell and Cyrus for making our stay at Moosehead such a memorable one. To arrive at such a cosy destination and have the fire roaring and the lights turned on, is service that goes that one step further. Moosehead had our kids entertained for days. The swing, the colourful birdlife and the general surroundings provided an endless array of things to do. Thanks again. We'll be back again soon!
